High school football: Week 5 results; recaps for every game

Batavia 49, Glenbard North 7: AJ Sanders returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown, Trey Urwiler followed with a 7-yard TD run and the Bulldogs later scored on five straight possessions to bounce back in a big way from their first loss. Jalen Buckley ran for 111 yards and a TD and Josh Dornink 95 yards and a score for Batavia.

Wheaton North 34, Geneva 0: Mark Forcucci threw three TD passes, to Kaiden Libby, Seth Kortenhoeven and Riley Dravet, and the Falcons defense forced six Geneva punts and three possessions that resulted in turnover on downs.

Kaneland 44, Ottawa 14: Corey Phillips ran for 199 yards and three TDs, and the Knights won their fourth straight game ahead of next Friday’s season finale with LaSalle-Peru. Troyer Carlson threw a TD pass to Aric Carlson for Kaneland.
