Body found in woods in Mount Carroll

MOUNT CARROLL – A male body was found around 1:30 p.m. Monday in a wooded area near the intersection of state Route 78 and U.S. Route 52, Mount Carroll police said in a news release posted on its Facebook page.

The man has not been identified; an autopsy to determine the cause of death and help with the identification will be conducted Wednesday, the release said.

Calls to the department seeking more information so far have not been returned.
