Angela Perna, 29, of Rock Falls, is the manager at Shoe Sensation in Northland Mall, Sterling. She has two children, Taylor Clapp, 11, and Ty Hudson, 7; is engaged to Shane Knox, 33, and is the daughter of Guido Perna and Cindy Witherow, all of Rock Falls. She also has three sisters: Sierra Harms, 30, of Prophetstown; Kristi Arjes, 27, of Dixon; and Melissa Rivera, 21, of Colorado Springs, Colo.
On-the-job lesson: Patience.
Alma mater: I graduated in 1997 from Newman Central Catholic High School and took courses at Sauk Valley Community College.

Haunts: My dad's restaurant, Perna's Pizza, in Rock Falls.
Hero: My mom. I have one daughter, and my mom had four. She went to college when we were young, and now is a nurse at the Sterling-Rock Falls Clinic.
First job: I worked at Perna's. I did a little bit of everything.
First car: A 1991 Chevrolet Camaro convertible. I was 16.
