Know Your Neighbor: Angela Perna, Shoe Sensation store manager

Angela Perna, 29, of Rock Falls, is the manager at Shoe Sensation in Northland Mall, Sterling. She has two children, Taylor Clapp, 11, and Ty Hudson, 7; is engaged to Shane Knox, 33, and is the daughter of Guido Perna and Cindy Witherow, all of Rock Falls. She also has three sisters: Sierra Harms, 30, of Prophetstown; Kristi Arjes, 27, of Dixon; and Melissa Rivera, 21, of Colorado Springs, Colo.

On-the-job lesson: Patience.

Alma mater: I graduated in 1997 from Newman Central Catholic High School and took courses at Sauk Valley Community College.

Philosophy: I follow the Golden Rule. And, what comes around goes around.

Hearts: Going to movies, bowling, shopping, "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers and Sisters."

Haunts: My dad's restaurant, Perna's Pizza, in Rock Falls.

Hero: My mom. I have one daughter, and my mom had four. She went to college when we were young, and now is a nurse at the Sterling-Rock Falls Clinic.

First job: I worked at Perna's. I did a little bit of everything.

First car: A 1991 Chevrolet Camaro convertible. I was 16.

Read this: All of the "Harry Potter" books. Everything about them was interesting.

People say I look like: My mom.

Phobia: Spiders.

Guilty pleasure: Sleeping in.

I'd like to meet: Marilyn Monroe.
