Amy Workman, 44, is a fifth-grade teacher at Chadwick Junior High School. She lives in Milledgeville with her husband, Keith Workman, 45, and their two children, Jake Workman, 18, and Stephanie Workman, 16. Amy is the daughter of Sharon Royer of Rock Falls and has two sisters and one brother.

On-the-job lesson: Patience.

Alma mater: I graduated in 1983 from Rock Falls High School, and got my teaching degree at Mount St. Clare College (now Ashford University), Clinton, Iowa.

Oughta be a law: There'd be world peace.

Hearts: Reading, and watching my kids play sports.

Haunts: Home and at my kids' games.

Hero: My dad, the late Larry Royer. He worked hard all his life and gave up everything for his family.

First job: I was a cook at the Sno Cap root beer stand in Rock Falls when I was 15.

First car: An Isuzu Pup. 19.

People say I look like: My dad.

Guilty pleasure:  Chocolate, sleep, and Diet Pepsi.

I'd like to meet: Elvis Presley.

In the dictionary next to: Loud.

Trading places: I'd like to be Oprah Winfrey. I think she gets to experience a lot of stuff normal people don't get to.

Trading spaces: I'd like to visit Scotland and England. I'd like to go on the castle tours.

Best thing about Milledgeville: Everybody knows you.
