Carol Henson

ROCK FALLS – Carol L. Henson, 68, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at her home after an extended illness. She was employed by National Manufacturing, Rock Falls, for 25 years, retiring in 2002.

Carol was born June 19, 1941, in Sterling, the daughter of Fredrick and Laura (Burger) Meiners. She married George Henson Sr. on Aug. 20, 1958, in Sterling. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting activities.

Survivors include her husband, George Henson Sr.; two daughters, Deborah Schriner of Rock Falls and Kimberly (James) Sanders of Sterling; one son, George Henson Jr. of Rock Falls; one brother, Edwin (Bev) Meiners of Rock Falls; and four grandchildren, Whitney and Ellie Henson and Cael and Kiley Sanders.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bonnie Jones and Lola Granter; and one brother, Elmer Meiners.

The funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls. Burial is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial to the Hospice of the Rock River Valley has been established.
