ROCK FALLS – Janna Lee Kulas, 80, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home, under the care of Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
She was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Manlius, the daughter of Chester and Alpha (Johnson) Wolber. She married Raymond Kulas on July 12, 1947.
Janna Lee was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and TOPS. She was active on the Rock Falls Centennial committee of 1967, and the Sesquicentennial of 1992.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond; one daughter, Charlene B. Smith of Sandwich; six sisters, Donna Jean Walgren of Mount Morris, Alverta Habben of Rockford, Lois (William) Richmond of Rock Falls, Carol (Jim) Spears of Prophetstown, Joyce (Larry) Sandrock of Tampico, and Barb (Craig) DeWald of Rock Falls; two grandchildren, Jason (Windy) Smith and Vanessa (Paul Davis) Smith; two great-grandchildren, Reese and Reagan Smith; three step-great-grandchildren, Zach, Mason and Victoria Ruppert; and one step-great-great-grandchild, Callie Ruppert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Charles Wolber.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak and the Rev. Louis Tosto co-officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls.
A memorial will be established in her memory.
