James Waite

DeKALB – James H. Waite, 78, of DeKalb, passed away, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, DeKalb. He was employed by Turner Brass, Sycamore, as an accountant for 20 years. He was the owner of Quick Start, Rochelle.

James was born July 12, 1931, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Gertrude (Lyon) Waite. He was a 1949 graduate of Prophetstown High School and a 1959 graduate of Northern Illinois University with a degree in accounting.

James served in the Navy during the Korean War. He married Beverly J. Denison on April 6, 1956, in Tampico. James was a member of First United Methodist Church, DeKalb, and the Kishwaukee Country Club. He was active in NIU Huskie Club and the University of Illinois "I" Fund.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; his children, Moreen (Rodger) Neumann of DeKalb and Gregory (Nicole) Waite of Naperville; two sisters, Genelda (Donald) Scott and Janice Bradley, both of Prophetstown; his four grandchildren, Ashley Neumann, Patrick Waite, Nicholas Waite, and Jaycie Waite; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, DeKalb, with the Rev. Laura Crites officiating. Burial will follow services at Oakwood Cemetery, DeKalb. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb.
