Valerie Hale

DIXON – Valerie Jean Hale, 36, of Dixon, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, after a very courageous 12-year fight against cancer.

Valerie was born Jan. 27, 1973, in Morrison, the daughter of Arden and Verna (Tegeler) Anderson.  She graduated from Milledgeville High School in 1991 and then continued on and graduated from Educators of Beauty. Valerie married "the love of her life," Thomas Hale Jr., on Sept. 25, 1993, in Chadwick. She loved being a beautician and getting to know all of her clients as if they were family. Valerie later became a medical transcriptionist and worked in her home so that she could spend more time with her children.

She was a very loving and giving person. Valerie touched many lives, more than she ever realized. Her strength came from her faith in her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her life was a testimony of that faith to all of those who knew her. Valerie was a deeply devoted "mommy" and wife, and treasured spending time with her husband and children, more than anything. She adored her children and was their biggest fan.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Tom Hale of Dixon; three children, Courtney, Stephanie, and Gable Hale, all at home; her parents, Arden and Verna Anderson of Chadwick; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Donna Hale of Dixon; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Cyndi and Kregg Farmer of Milledgeville and Jody and Jim Mertz of Chadwick; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Jamie Hale of Dixon; her 10 nephews and nieces; and many very dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Kenneth Tegeler; and her paternal grandparents, Meredith and Ruby Anderson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church of Chadwick, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks, pastor of Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be at Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.

A memorial has been established.
