STERLING – Madison Eryn Fitzgerald, 15, of Sterling, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at her home.
Madison was born July 15, 1994, in Sterling, the daughter of Aaron and Jodi (Branson) Fitzgerald. She attended and graduated from St. Mary Grade School, and was a sophomore at Sterling Township High School. She was active as a cheerleader for the football and basketball teams, and played soccer for the school, as well as for the YMCA fall league.
Surviving are her parents, Aaron and Jodi; her brother, Jameson Fitzgerald at home; her maternal grandparents, Dallas and Connie Branson of Rock Falls; her paternal grandparents, Mike and Laura Fitzgerald of Sterling; her maternal great-grandparents, Margaret Branson of Rock Falls and Virginia Cole of Tampico; her paternal great-grandparents, Daniel and Mary Casillas of Rock Falls and James and Treva Fitzgerald of Dixon; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles, including her uncle, Craig (April) Fitzgerald, her aunt, Koreen (David) Terrock, and her great-uncle, George (Klara) Branson.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Donald Cole; paternal great-grandmother, Doris Fitzgerald; and her uncle, Brock Branson.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Donald Ahles, celebrant, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
