KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Carol Jo Milledge McElroy, 68, formerly of Dixon and Rock Falls, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Highland Nursing Home, Kansas City, Mo.

Carol was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Dixon, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Feery) Milledge. She graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1959, and from Open Bible College, Des Moines, Iowa, in 1967. She married Melvin McElroy on Oct. 5, 1969, in Kansas City, Mo. They celebrated 40 years together.

She retired from the government in Kansas City, Mo., in 2005, after 17 years of service.

Survivors include her husband; two stepchildren, Vickie Wiseman of North Kansas City, Mo., and Roy (Glenda) McElroy of Jasper, Ark.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcia (David) Billings of Rock Falls; one niece, Tina Munz (Tim) Egan; one great-niece, Aubree Egan; one aunt, Edith Griswold of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and several cousins.

Memorial service will be at a later date at Birchwood Baptist Church, Independence, Mo. Cremation rites will be accorded. Arrangements were completed by Charter Funeral Home, Merriam, Kan.
