Michael Draper

AMBOY – Michael L. Draper, 57, of Amboy, died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home.

He was born June 13, 1953, in Peoria, the son of Merrill “Pat” and Joyce (Conner) Draper. He married Sandra Dewey on June 7, 1975, in Ohio.

Michael worked in agribusiness. He was a member of Bonanza Creek and Coon Creek Hunting Clubs, and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Jonathan Michael Draper and Matthew Ivan Draper, and his parents, all of Amboy; one sister Kelli Draper of Dixon; one brother, Thomas (Theresa) Draper of Amboy; his father-in-law, Richard Dewey of Mendota; his mother-in-law, Shirley Okland of Amboy; his brothers-in-law, Richard (Monica) Dewey of Mendota, Brian Dewey of New York, Brett (Sheila) Dewey of Amboy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard F. Draper.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home. Amboy, with the Rev. Frank Brozenec officiating.

Burial will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery, Amboy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established.
