For three days, starting Friday, June 24 through Sunday, June 26, there will be re-opening celebration at the Big R Store located at 2655 Sycamore Drive in Morris.
Big R is a company that believes in contributing to keeping its community vital. The upgrading of the Morris store is a visible action to keeping its’ goals. Big R also participates in the Morris Chamber of Commerce and contributes to 4H, FFA, Ducks Unlimited, Gus Macker and Corn Festival.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the fun starts with a many giveaways, Visitors can start by registering their email address for “Insider Club” specials and a chance to win $100. On the clock at 15 and 45 minutes after the hours are $25 gift card wins, at 30 minutes $50 gift cards and on the hour $100+ in prizes. Savings on selected items from stock and stable feed to everyday household items are slashed 30 to 50 percent for three days only.
Free coffee and donuts will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. and lunch and dinner can be purchased from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. fom the Pogliano Pork Wagon. Free popcorn and balloons are available all day.
There will be Hobart welding demonstrations Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, Brooke Soldan will be on hand from Cargill to offer assistance with feed questions. Radio stations WJJC/WIDK will be broadcasting live.
Big R provides the population with merchandise with the slogan, “Saves Big Everyday” and includes lawn and garden, plumbing, electrical, pet feed and supplies, work and casual clothing, automotive products, sporting goods, firearms, ammunition and farm supplies, including livestock feed. A repair shop offers service on Big R’s array of power equipment, including walk behind mowers, lawn tractors, blowers, chain saws and string trimmers. Big R is open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Big R has 12 locations in east central Illinois and west central Indiana. Illinois locations include Watseka, Gibson City, Danville, Tilton, Pontiac, Morris and the soon-to-open Pekin location. Indiana locations include Crawfordsville, Marion, Michigan City, Wabash and Warsaw. Big R has been serving the Midwest for over 40 years.
