FRANKLIN GROVE – Dorothy Irene Mulkins, 95, of Franklin Grove, formerly of Dixon, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at Franklin Grove Nursing Center, Franklin Grove.
Dorothy was born Aug. 22, 1915, the daughter of Lewis R. and Elsie (Dombe) Fish. She married Louis F. Mulkins on May 11, 1934, in Mendota. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1969. She was a member of Sauk Valley Community Church, Dixon, formerly Community Alliance Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert (Sue) Mulkins of Dixon; one daughter, Lisl (Rune) Lillquist of Port St. Joe, Fla.; four grandchildren, Michael Mulkins, Christopher (Kelli) Mulkins, Leslie (Michael) Harshman and Pam Mulkins; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Richard L. Mulkins; her half brothers, Donald, Eugene and Stanley Fish; one stepbrother, Jack Mossholder; and two sisters, Mildred Howard and Helen Tate.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sauk Valley Community Church, Dixon. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. John Kalebaugh, pastor of The Refuge Church, Amboy, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.
