VOLO – Karen D. Hook, 66, of 145 Rainbow Drive, No. 4598, Livingston, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago. She worked for various temporary services as an administrative assistant.

She was born Jan. 7, 1945, in Bloomington, the daughter of Dr. James H. Moret and Irene (LeFever) Dyke. She married David “Ted” Hook on Nov. 27, 1964, in Morrison.

Survivors include her husband of Volo; her mother of Morrison; two daughters, Christine Hook (Kurt Schumacher) of Round Lake Beach and Angela (Daniel) Schubert of Lake Zurich; two granddaughters; two sisters, Sandy (Ron) Behrens of Sterling and Dawn Zuidema of Morrison; one brother, Norman Moret of Geneva; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; two stepfathers, Donald Dyke and Elmer Zuidema; and her in-laws, William and Dorothy Hook.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, with the Rev. Gerald H. Norman, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.
