STERLING – Sandra J. Behrens, 62, of Sterling, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Morrison Community Hospital. Sandra first worked as a licensed beautician, then for Vern’s Home Furnishings in Morrison, and most recently for Morrison Community Federal Credit Union, retiring in 2010.
Sandra was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Morrison, the daughter of Dr. James H. and Irene (LeFever) Moret. She married Ronald E. Behrens on June 14, 1968, in Morrison. She attended Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1966. She also was a graduate of Sterling Beauty School. Sandra was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; mother, Irene Dyke of Morrison; one daughter, Milissa (Shawn) Beyer of Galena; two sons, David (Amie) Behrens of Morrison and Adam (Amy Bender) Behrens of Rock Falls; one sister, Dawn Zuidema of Morrison; one brother, Norman Moret of Geneva; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Karen Hook; two stepfathers, Elmer Zuidema and Donald Dyke; and one niece, Katie Zuidema.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, with the Rev. Gerald H. Norman of Ebenezer Reformed Church officiating.
Memorials have been established to Hospice of the Rock River Valley and American Cancer Society.
