POLO – Connie K. Stahler, 55, of Polo, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wis. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Tom Cline in Polo from 1976 to 1987. She also was the export administrator for Raynor Garage Doors in Dixon for 24 years.

Connie was born May 7, 1956, in Dixon, the daughter of Everett and Joanne (Plowman) Grant. She married Mark Stahler on Oct. 2, 1976, in Polo.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling with Mark on their motorcycles, crafting, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her pets and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  She was an active member of Garden Club and St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Polo, where she served on the church council and volunteered with other church activities. Connie inspired everyone with her energy and charismatic smile.

Survivors include her husband of Polo; two daughters, Allison (Ben) Hickerson and Andrea (Jay) Mullens, both of Winnebago; three grandchildren, Brittan Mullens, Brinley Mullens and Henry Hickerson; her mother of Polo; four sisters, Bonnie (John) Volz of Machesney Park, Vicki (Jim) Schultheis of Polo, Sally (Mark) Douglas of Coleta and Patricia Schaefer of Dixon; one brother, Don Grant of Hayward, Wis.; one sister-in-law, Carol (Tom) Suits of Polo; one brother-in-law, Ted (Linda) Stahler of Morton; and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; her father-in-law, Austin Stahler; and her mother-in-law, Jeanne Stahler.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Polo. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Terrie Wilder and the Rev. Leo Patterson co-officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo.

A memorial has been established.
