ROCK FALLS – Glenn M. Freas, 79, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at his home. He served as the administrator of the Sterling Moose Family Center for more than 20 years.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1932, in Sterling, the son of Wayne M. and Beulah (Blair) Freas. He served in the National Guard. Glenn married Delores (Bronson) Staelens on April 5, 1991, in Rock Falls. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls; Sterling Family Moose; Rock Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars; Rock Falls American Legion; Rock Falls Eagles Club; and Association of Clubs of Sterling-Rock Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Dee; their children, Thomas (Cheryl) Freas of Michigan City, Ind., and Pamela (Steve) Glick and Laurie (James) Ordean, both of Rock Falls; his son-in-law, Rich Wessels of Rock Falls; his daughter-in-law, Kim White of Mapleton; his sisters, Illa (Ron) Hay of Sterling and Lois (Kenneth) Heerdt of Rock Falls; his brothers, Frank (Marilyn) Freas of Morrison and Lyle Freas of Sterling; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Cathy Ann Freas and Susan Wessels; three brothers, Keith, George and Kenneth Freas; one sister, Alice Schmitt; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with the Moose Pilgrim service of tribute at 7:30 p.m., Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
