MORRISON – Warren P. Petersen, 76, of 510 Jenkran Way, Morrison, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, Iowa. He was a truck driver for Wiersema Trucking in Rock Falls, retiring in 2001.
Warren was born Nov. 2, 1935, in Morrison, the son of Russel B. and Theresa (Vos) Petersen. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean War. Warren married Ida Marie Kennard in 1958, in Morrison.
He then married Anne M. (Revelly) Martin on Feb. 11, 1977, in Morrison. He was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Beth (Mike Specht) Petersen of Prophetstown; one stepdaughter, Patti (Dave) Austin of Riverton; two sons, Paul (Gwen Scott) Petersen of Prophetstown and Corey (Lorrie) Petersen of Kirkland, Wash.; one stepson, Gary (Thessy Wincent) Martin of Munich, Germany; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell P. Petersen; and one sister, Susan Heaton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Schenck, pastor of Morrison United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.
