HINCKLEY – The Rev. Christopher Navurskis will be installed as pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 12760 Lee Road in Hinckley, at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 17 in the church sanctuary. A reception to welcome Navurskis and his family will immediately follow the installation in the church fellowship hall.
Navurskis is excited to return to Immanuel, where he was baptized and confirmed. He graduated from Hinckley-Big Rock High School and attended Wabonsee Community College. Navurskis transferred to Concordia University in Mequon, Wis., to complete his undergraduate degree, and it was there he met his wife, Miriam. The couple moved to St. Louis, Mo., where he attended Concordia Seminary. He received his master of divinity degree in 2004 and was ordained as a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod minister. He has served congregations in Missouri, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Miriam Navurskis is a teacher by profession, currently staying home with the couple's three children, Mark, 8, Nate, 5, and Claire, eight months.
Chris Navurskis is an avid bicyclist and motorcycle enthusiast. The family enjoys being outdoors, gardening, hiking, biking, fishing and camping. The whole family is excited to be a part of their new church at Immanuel and the community to which it belongs.
