DIXON – Brian K. Russman, 56, of Dixon, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at his home, due to an extended illness. He was a roofer for many years in Arizona and Florida and worked in maintenance at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tampa, before retiring to Dixon to be near his family.
Brian was born Oct. 23, 1955, in Dixon, the son of Margaret Lucille (Swarts) and Dale Brewer Russman. Brian enjoyed his independence and lived life to the fullest. He had a great sense of humor, always had a story, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan until the end.
Surviving are his children, Joanna (Jeff) Burger of Ellicott City, Md., Rachel (Rob) LeSage of Dixon and Brianne Whisler of Mansfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel, Emmaline and Ruby Burger, and Nicholas, Ethan and Owen LeSage, and Daylan and Trevor Whisler; his sisters, Wanda (Ken) Bramer of Freeport, Marceile (Ron) Pritchard and Jan (Art) Atilano, both of Dixon; and special friend, Gina Becker of Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; and a nephew, David Glenn.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
