PRINCETON — Carol Therese Joiner, 85, of Princeton passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at her home.
Born Dec. 24, 1926, in Tiskilwa to Raymond and Delores (Day) McMahon, she married William "Bill" Joiner Oct. 28, 1947, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiskilwa. He survives.
She graduated from Tiskilwa High School. She was the owner and shopkeeper of Ragamuffins Children's Store in Princeton for 25 years.
She was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church and its Bridge Club.
Also surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Carlson of DeKalb and Judith (Larry) Thomas of Princeton; four grandchildren, Baron (Irene) Carlson of New York, N.Y., Bridget Carlson of DeKalb, Mary Bridget Thomas of Princeton and Emily (Shawn) Moats of Princeton; two great-grandchildren, Liam Carlson and Chloe Moats; and one sister, Delores Rita Henry of Cedarburg, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Raymond "Mickey" McMahon Jr., John McMahon and Muriel Matzinger.
Services will be at noon Friday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, with Father Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to St. Margaret's Hospice.
