CRYSTAL LAKE – Robert and Mary Parrish of Crystal Lake celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mary Rita Miller and Robert “Bud” Parrish were married Sept. 1, 1962, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cary. They have lived in Crystal Lake since their marriage.

He was owner of Parrish Paving Inc. He enjoys woodworking and is passionate about restoring and showing classic cars.

She was a nurse for Sherman Hospital and Pediatric Associates. She is involved in Bible study, garden club, book club, red hats and bunco. She is an avid reader and also enjoys sewing gardening and swimming.

Both enjoy spending time with their children, grandchildren and wonderful friends, as well as many longtime friends from Crystal Lake Central High School class of 1959. Both are dedicated members and supporters of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

They have two sons, Rob (Lori) Parrish of Crystal Lake and Tim (Holly) Parrish of Crystal Lake. They have three daughters, Mary (Ed) Hamblin of Peachtree City, Ga., Holly (Randy) Berke of Rockford and Anne (Joe) Poland of Chicago.

They also have 10 grandchildren.
