Robert C. Gould Sr.

AMBOY – Robert C. Gould Sr., 68, of Amboy, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center. He had worked for the Laborers Local 727 Union for 37 years, retiring in 1998.

He was born Jan. 2, 1944, in Peoria, the son of Donald F. and Janet (Cross) Gould. He married Shirley Mae Newman on April 16, 1963, in Sterling. She preceded him in death Feb. 7, 2004.

He is survived by four sons, Robert C. (Tina) Gould Jr. of Amboy, Theodore T. Gould of Dixon, Jeffrey W. (Brenda) Gould of Sterling and Philip S. (Nakole) Gould of Amboy; one daughter, Wendy J. (Shane Gallentine) Gould of Morrison; 15 grandchildren, Haley, Ryan, Ross, Eric, Brenden, Gretchen, Grace, Morgan, Tanner, Taylor, Claire Mae, Logan, Londyn, Chloe and Louryn; four brothers, Donald F. (Lois) Gould Jr., of Sterling, James (Mary) Gould of Amboy, Mark (Dr. Susan) Gould of Rock Falls and Paul (Sue) Gould of Sterling; and one sister, Barb (Dennis) Schwenk of Rock Falls.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amboy. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy.
