What are your main products or services? To serve a deliciously home-cooked meal that promises to never leave you hungry. We pride ourselves on our friendly service and fresh meals that are made to order.

What's new? Previously a food wagon, we have now located to 609 Depot Ave. We are constantly adding new food items to our menu and have Flynnie's apparel that you can purchase at our restaurant.

What makes your business special? Do you have a company motto or slogan? All of our food is freshly prepared. Nothing is ever made ahead or frozen. We have many slogans: deliciously home-style cooking; come as strangers, leave as friends; and we're not fancy, we're family. However you look at it, you're always welcome at Flynnie's.

How many do you employ? Are you hiring? 11 employees. We're not hiring.

Who are you? Cindy Flynn. I co-own Flynnie's with my husband, Mike.

Tell us about yourselves. Mike has always dreamed of opening his own restaurant. Mike grew up in Dixon and around the restaurant business with his aunt and uncle owning the Forest Inn in Forreston. He started dishwashing at 11 years old, standing on a milk carton, since his mom was a waitress. Mike's love of cooking developed shortly into his high school career. He worked at a few restaurants and often cooked to feed himself.

Mike attended Dixon High School, class of 1980. That’s when we met. Mike and I met on homecoming night at Sterling, where I went to school. We just met at the bowling alley. Six months later, we got married. We’ve been married 33 years.

We have two kids, Cory Flynn, 32, of Dixon, and Derrick Flynn, 29, of Rock Falls, and five grandchildren.
