UNION – George and Susan Standish of Union celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Susan London and George Standish were married Sept. 8, 1962, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo. They are both lifelong residents of the Marengo/Union area.
He was a cabinet maker at Olsen Woodworking and retired in 1992 to devote all his time to farming.
She was a school teacher and retired from St. Joseph’s School in Harvard in 2010.
Together they continue to run their farm in Union.
They also enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
They have a son, George (Becky) Standish of Marengo; and two daughters, Shana (Nathan) Sies of Milton, Wis., and Sunny (Jose) Herrera of Marengo.
They also have eight grandchildren.
