Rev. Susan Eckhoff

LASALLE — Rev. Susan K. Eckhoff, 73, of LaSalle, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Mendota Lutheran Home.

Pastor Sue was born Nov. 19, 1938, in Princeton to Herman and Mildred Eckhoff. She served as a Lutheran pastor for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, president of WELCA, a Bible study leader of the Women’s Circle, a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Choir and the sewing group at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and helped in making kits for Lutheran World Relief.

She is survived by one brother, Allen Eckhoff of Metamora; one sister, Mary Ellen Eckhoff of Princeton; and her special friends, Betty Worple and Nancy Nanni.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Rollie Eckhoff.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Peru, with the Rev. Timothy Kenyon, pastor, officiating. Burial will in Parkview Cemetery, Peoria.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Philip Nanni, Joe Worple, Jim Nanni, Jon Ragsdale, Dale Vlastnik and Ken Koepke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the food pantry of your community or to the PADS homeless shelter.
