OREGON – Harry A. Mogge, 85, of Oregon, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
He was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Chicago, the son of Harry A. and Alma (Otto) Mogge Sr. He married Hilda A. Hodel on Feb. 26, 1949, in Chicago. She died in 2007. Harry lived in Oregon since 1996, and was a resident of Arlington Heights from 1963 to 1988. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and an usher. He also was a past president of the Oregon Lions Club and received the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and playing card games.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Karen) Mogge of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Barbara Mason of Colorado Springs and Nancy (David) Ayers of Palatine; daughter-in-law, Donna Mogge of Oregon; grandchildren, Jim and Nancy Mogge, Anna (Brendan) Whelan, Shannon and Meghan Mason, Abi, Karla and Nellie Mogge, and Troy and Sam Ayers; great-grandchildren, Zachery and Aiden Whelan; nieces; nephews; and many loving friends.
He also was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Mogge.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Naill, pastor, celebrant officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Oregon.
