Newlon and Matchen

EVANSTON – Sarah Newlon and Jeremiah Matchen, both of McHenry, were married in a double-ring ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 14, 2012, in the Howes Memorial Chapel at Garret-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston. The Rev. Dave Potash officiated.

She is the daughter of Shaun and Christine Newlon of Bull Valley. He is the son of James Matchen of McHenry and Jeanette Matchen of Wisconsin Dells.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace gown.

She carried a bouquet of white hydrangea and brooches given to her by family and friends.

Maid of honor was Jessica Newlon, sister of the bride.

Best man was Josh Heide, friend of the bridegroom.

Music was provided by John Newlon, brother of the bride, with special readings shared during the ceremony by Joe Newlon, brother of the bride, and Carley Sorrentino, friend of the bride.

After the ceremony, the couple’s friend Nicole Fitzgerald took photographs in Northwestern’s Shakespeare Garden.

An outdoor reception was hosted at the bride’s parents’ home on Sept. 15, with many more family members and friends gathering to celebrate. Sandy Speciale, aunt of the bridegroom, photographed the event.

The couple took a wedding trip to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Naples, Fla.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of McHenry West High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She works as an information technology asset management analyst for PepsiCo.

The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of McHenry West High School and is a field service technician for Jett’s Heating and Air Conditioning.

They live in Lake in the Hills.
