STREATOR — Richard "Rick" Ragusa, 59, of Streator passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born Aug. 5, 1953, to Tony and Gertrude (Hughs) Ragusa.
He graduated from Streator Township High School. He was a laborer for local 82 of Streator until his accident where he fell working construction. He later worked for Streator Animal Control and then LaSalle County Animal Control. He was sergeant of the guard at the National Guard for Securitas in Marseilles and he also volunteered his time as the Range Manager at Buffalo Range Shooting Park.
He was a member of the Sandy Ford Sportsmen's Club and the H.O.G. chapter, and was involved with Run for the Wall, Toys for Tots and toy runs.
Surviving are three children, Amy (Mike) Goodrich of Putnam, Meagan (Dustin) Funderberg of Tiskilwa and Cody Ragusa of Streator; his fiancée, Debbie Barichello; four grandchildren, Mckelti and Jaxin Goodrich, and Olivia and Nolan; two brothers, John Rein and Chuck (Kathy) Ragusa; one sister, Deborah (Don) Johnson; one nephew, Jim Taylor; one niece, Jessi Ragusa; and one great-great niece, Addison Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Ragusa; one nephew, Eric Taylor; and one great-niece, Jenni Taylor.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator, with Justin Fink, long-time friend, officiating. Burial will be in Emery Green Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
