PRINCETON — Princeton High School inducted 11 new members into the National Honor’s Society on Jan. 25. Senior inductees include Taylor Behrends, Stephanie Blessman, Lexi Marselle, Beau Minnick, Hunter Schultz, Aubrey Smith and Taylor Smith. Junior inductees are Laura Behrends, Lindsay Hartwig, Ryan Jensen and Kelly Schmidt.
To be eligible for consideration, students must be an 11th- or 12th-grader, must have been in attendance at Princeton High School for at least one year, and achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.25. A five-member, faculty council reviewed the students who wanted be considered and elected the new members based on outstanding criteria in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character.
Awarding the new members, in the auditorium, were Principal Andy Berlinski and NHS advisor Tameran Polowy. The previously inducted 2011-12 senior NHS members conducted the traditional candle-lighting ceremony with Kate Morrow as master of ceremonies. The other 2011-12 NHS senior members who were present and participated in the ceremony included Andrew Birkey, Kayla Fawcett, Katherine Pranka, Genevieve Prushinski and Emmalee Sears. Kathryn Krieger was absent due to participation in a state music festival.
Following the ceremony, a time of celebration and fellowship at a dessert banquet was held in the cafeteria to honor the new members and their families.
