Amy L. DeVries Luepkes

OREGON – Amy Louise DeVries Luepkes, 46, of Oregon, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born Nov. 24, 1966, in Rockford, the daughter of John A. and Judith A. (Cultra) DeVries. Amy graduated from Oregon High School in 1984. She had worked the past 25 years for Commonwealth Edison.

Amy most enjoyed being with her family and friends, and especially following her sons’ sports and activities. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church and Mount Morris Moose Lodge. She had a love for horses, and used to raise and show them. Amy loved to be outside four-wheeling and boating. Amy was a founding member of the Sista’s Club.

She was predeceased by her grandparents; a sister, Catherine Lynn DeVries, in infancy; and her stepfather, LaMonte “Butch” Aurand.

She is survived by her sons, David and Austin Luepkes, fiancé, Jeff Sartorius, and mother, Judith Aurand, all of Oregon; father, John A. (Esther) DeVries of Cozumel, Mexico; sister, Carla (Tony) Benesh of Oregon; brother, John K. (Cathy) DeVries of White Lake, Mich.; half brother, John Amos Guevara DeVries of Cozumel; nephews and nieces, Bryan and Erica DeVries, Brett DeVries, Blake Benesh, and Ryan and Rachel Hahn; one great-niece, Caroline; special friends, Mark and Jeri Heckman, JoAnne Doran, Dennis and Jill Deckard, Magan and Nate Brent, Mike and Katy Kelley, and Jeff Sartorius Jr.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and all of her dear girl friends in the Sista’s 4 wheeling club.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Candy Morris officiating. A celebration of Amy’s life will follow the service at the Mount Morris Moose Lodge. Private burial will be at a later date.

A memorial fund has been established in Amy’s name.
