Ashton man charged with computer fraud

ASHTON – An employee of Casey’s convenience store in Ashton is facing 12 counts of computer fraud after taking prepaid credit cards from the store, authorities say.

Jacob Thorn List, 22, of Ashton, is being held in Lee County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He was arrested Tuesday without any problems, Lee County Sheriff John Varga said.

“He was running the prepaid credit cards through a computer and using them that way,” the sheriff said.

Ashton Police Chief Darrell Farringer investigated the case, while the Lee County Sheriff’s Department helped with the warrant search of List’s house, where officers found prepaid credit cards, Varga said.
