Rosalie Weber

PROPHETSTOWN – Rosalie Weber, 79, of Prophetstown, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at her home.

Rosalie was born Nov. 11, 1933, in Rock Falls, to Kenneth and Etta (Lutyens) Hasenyager. She graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1951 and went on to cosmetology training. She married Rollin Weber on Aug. 15, 1952; they would have been married 61 years on Thursday.

Rosalie lived in Erie for many years and had been employed by Farral’s Hardware. She was a longtime member and past president of the Erie Women’s Club. Rosalie was a member of Prophetstown United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She also was a volunteer at the elementary school, reading to the children. Rosalie was most comfortable in her kitchen, where she loved to bake and made wonderful meals for her family.

In addition to her husband, Rosalie is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Jim) Loerop of Raleigh, N.C., and Taffie (Todd) Williams of Parker, Colo.; three sons, Randy (Pam) Weber of Winter Haven, Fla., Rodney (Candice) Weber of Batesville, Ark., and Scott (Kindyl) Weber of Erie; 13 grandchildren, Kelly Johnston, Tracy Winckler, Katie Meitzen, Jennifer Marbury, Derek Weber, Dan Weber, Courtney Pool, Matt, Mike, Mya and Meilin Loerop, and Brianna and Erik Williams; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Keith (Margaret) Hasenyager of Sterling; and sister-in-law, Anita (Jerry) Oberle of Morton.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lois, Evalene, and Kenneth Jr.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Prophetstown United Methodist Church in Prophetstown. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Cheri Stewart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
