Linda Chavera

DIXON – Linda Lou Bonnell Chavera, 66, of Dixon, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Linda was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Mendota, the daughter of Orville “Big O” and Irene (Salz) Bonnell. Linda attended Maytown and Amboy schools. She loved her family, and Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys games.

She is survived by her two sons, Mark (Kathy) Chavera and Michael (Tammy) Chavera, both of Dixon; three granddaughters, Cassandra Chavera of Davenport, Iowa, and Angela Chavera and Laurel (Lexie) Chavera, both of Dixon; one great- granddaughter, Aubrey Eddy of Dixon; six sisters, Peggy (Myrl) Johnson and Janelle (Jim) Clark, both of Dixon, Rosann (Bill) Good of Pearland, Texas, Bonnie (John) Carson of Ashton, Jill (Rollie) Streeter of Spring Valley, and Lucy (Darin) Miller of Byron; five brothers, John (Pam) Bonnell and Joel (Karen) Bonnell, both of Dixon, Thomas (Lynn) Bonnell of Ashton, and Daniel “Peach” (Connie) Bonnell and Jerry (Vicki) Bonnell both of Amboy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; both of her parents; two brothers, Martin K. Bonnell and Steven J. Bonnell; one brother-in-law, Phil Sofolo; nephew, Brock Bonnell; and niece, Rachel Bonnell.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Jones Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
