Police find poultry carcass after following suspicious person
ELMHURST – Police discovered a poultry carcass left on a hill Sunday near Grand Avenue and Lake Street.
During routine patrol, an officer observed a person climbing the small hill on the southwest corner of the intersection at 5:23 p.m. Sunday. The Elmhurst police officer thought the situation was suspicious since there was no vehicle around. The officer also thought "this is an odd place to be on foot," according to police reports.
When the officer made it up the hill, the person had disappeared, leaving only footprints in the snow.
The officer then discovered the poultry carcass on top of the hill. Police are not sure what type of fowl the remains used to be, but the carcass was wrapped in a ribbon and butcher paper.
