BARRINGTON – Sparking local attention for its hosting of charity events and housing of rare antiques, the Sanfilippo Estate hidden along Plum Tree road in Barrington was a day trip destination for the Barrington Area Council of Aging and the Barrington and Palatine Park Districts April 9.
Many area seniors toured the "Place de la Musique," a collection of restored antique music machines, phonographs, Tiffany lamps, art glass and what is allegedly the world's largest restored theatre pipe organ.
Another stop on the three-hour tour was the life-size carousel housed on the estate – the Eden Palais carousel.
The Barrington Area Council on Aging is a private, nonprofit organization that plans several events each month for seniors, family caregivers and the greater community.
John N. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. is the parent company of the Fisher brand of nuts. The family established the Sanfilippo Foundation as a means of partnering with various non-profit organizations to host charity events such as concert performances.
