JROTC instructor earns doctorate degree

JOLIET – Benjamin White, Senior Army Instructor of the Joliet West high School JROTC program, has earned his doctor of Business Administration in Values Driven Leadership from Benedictine University. White successfully defended his dissertation, “Creation of the Return on Values Assessment Instrument,” to complete his coursework.

Dr. White, a retired lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Army, has also earned a bachelor’s degree in management from West Point, a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Indiana University, and an master in business association from Webster University.

For his doctorate, White developed a pilot assessment instrument to independently measure variables of organizational culture and performance, an attempt to discover if organizations that conduct business in a values-driven way outperform organizations who do not.

White hopes that his survey will help future scholars in assessing organizations.
