MORRIS – New Lenox-based Trinity Services Inc. has teamed up with Special Connections of Grundy County to extend services and provide a physical presence in the area.
Trinity is now sharing office space with Special Connections at 1539 W. Route 6 in Morris, and is staffed part time by employees from its New Lenox corporate office. Trinity is a nonprofit that provides services for children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and people with mental illness.
A need was present in Grundy County and joining forces with Special Connections just made sense, Trinity Executive Director Art Dykstra said in the news release. Trinity has begun offering a Supported Employment Program and Respite Services in Grundy. A community needs assessment will be done to map out further growth.
Endorsing the new partnership, state Rep. John Anthony, R-Plainfield, said in the release, “Trinity is an outstanding organization with dedicated staff and volunteers who make a difference each and every day. I look forward to advocating together and celebrating the families with special needs who contribute so much to the life of our community.”
Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris, echoed Anthony’s feelings.
“The services that Trinity Services provides for children and adults are needed by many and provide a great relief for those with developmental disabilities and their caregivers, she said in the news release. “I will support this organization in any way I can and I certainly appreciate the work they are doing for the people of Grundy County and the surrounding areas.”
