Julia K. Jacobs

ROCK FALLS – Julia K. Jacobs, 87, of Rock Falls, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prophetstown.

Julia was born March 6, 1927, in Sterling, the daughter of Francis Thomas and Rosalie (Hajvert) McFadden. She married Ken Jacobs on Jan. 5, 1954, in Sterling. Julia was a longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls.

Survivors include her husband of Rock Falls; four daughters, Suzanne (Ed) Milligan of Rock Falls, Sandy (Thomas) Dunn of Dixon, and Sally (Arthur) Mendoza and Sharry (Rick) Marshall, both of Rock Falls; three sons, Terry (Michelle Kemmerer) Jacobs of Dixon, Ted (Jill) Jacobs of Rock Falls, and Todd (Colleen) Jacobs of Dixon; two sisters, Louise Byvick of Milledgeville and Elizabeth (Arlyn) Gerdes of Sterling, two brothers, Francis McFadden and James (Peggy) McFadden, both of Rock Falls; one sister-in-law, Ruth McFadden of Sterling; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rose Marie Anderson and Suzanne Lewandowski; two brothers, John P. McFadden and Tom McFadden; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Adalberto Sanchez officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
