ROCK FALLS – Crystal Stella “Ginger” Banda-Mullen, 45, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at home. She worked as a patient service representative for about 6 years at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Crystal was born Nov. 1, 1968, in Sterling, to Calletano and Estella (Lopez) Banda. She married Rodney Mullen on Aug. 15, 1988, in Clinton, Iowa. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.
Survivors include her husband; five children, Ciara Mullen of Chandler, Arizona, Elexia Sanders of Rock Falls, Kiana Mullen of Chandler, and Michael Mullen and Rihana Mullen, both of Rock Falls; five siblings, Casandra “Sandy” Banda of Sterling, Carl (Janis) Banda of Cicero, Corrine (Mike) Gray of Sterling, Chris (Erin) Banda of Exeter, New Hampshire, and Conrad (Edie) Banda of Gilberts; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Oscar Banda.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with the rosary recited at 3:45 p.m., Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling, with the Rev. James R. Keenan officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
