BERWYN – Berwyn investigators are still searching for a third suspect in connection with the armed robbery of an Illinois Gaming Commission agent outside of Lalo's Restaurant at 9 a.m. Aug. 13.
Police said there are details of the case that have not been released because the investigation continues. However, two of the suspects are in custody.
Joseph Montoro, 29, of the 3500 block of Cuyler Avenue, is being held on $750,000 bond in Cook County Jail. Christopher Livoy, 28, of the 6800 block of Pershing Road, Stickney, is also being held on a $100,000 bond.
Both Montoro and Livoy appeared at the Maybrook Courthouse Sept. 3.
Two of the three men were wearing black and white bandanas when they approached the Gaming Commission agent in the parking lot. The agent was allegedly carrying a strong box containing more than $50,000 in cash taken from the restaurant's gaming machines. Both men were carrying handguns.
During the robbery, the agent was able to apprehend Livoy, who was then turned over to police when they arrived.
Montoro was positively identified out of a photo line up.
Both men are believed to have affiliations with the 12th Street Players street gang, police said.
Montoro was released form the Illinois Department of Corrections earlier this year after serving a nine-year sentence for an armed robbery in Forest Park.
