HOMER GLEN - A man was arrested Tuesday after police found him allegedly trying to break open his own door with an axe.
Jack R. Hlustik, 50, fought with Will County Sheriff's deputies who came to investigate, according to spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer.
Hoffmeyer said police were called at 3:34 p.m. to Dublin Court where "they heard a loud repetitive banging and a man's voice shouting (from behind) a closed garage door."
Hoffmeyer said someone at the scene was able to open the door for deputies to find an irate and very intoxicated Hlustik.
"Hlustik was ordered to drop the axe that he had been using in an attempt to open the service door leading into the residence," Hoffmeyer said.
Hoffmeyer said while Hlustik set the axe down, he refused to come out of the garage and continuously struggled against the deputies.
Hlustik was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, battery and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Will County jail and released on $1,000 bond.
