LOST LAKE – Anne Natalie Lammers, 92, of Lost Lake, passed away at her home.
She was born to Antonio and Marie (Tapperi) Costa on Dec. 24, 1921, near Barbania in the Piedmont region of Italy.
Anne was the best nurse at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she worked as a supervisor for the postpartum (maternity) ward. She is a U.S. Army veteran, having served her country during World War II as an Army nurse stationed in Okinawa.
She married Gerard Lammers on Oct. 10, 1950. Soon after marrying, the couple moved to Wheatridge, Colorado. Anne and Gerard moved a few times during their life together before finally retiring in Lost Lake, near Dixon, in 1997. While living in the area, they attended Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Oregon.
Anne is survived by her loving husband, Gerard Lammers of Lost Lake; children, Cynthia (David Mark) Smith of Pendleton, Oregon, Bryan (Debi) Lammers of Peoria Heights, and Valerie (David) Clark of Marshalltown, Iowa; brother, Michael Costa of Cole Center, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Nicole (Robert) Reifman, Matthew Lammers, Natalie Clark, and Elizabeth Clark; and great-grandchildren, Betty and Willa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Joan and Josephine.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today, and the funeral at 11 a.m. today at the Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Oregon, with the Rev. Javier Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Lighthouse Cemetery.
