OREGON – Donald G. “Don” Roos, 77, of Oregon, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Rochelle Community Hospital.
Don was born Nov. 9, 1936, on the family farm near Paynes Point, the son of Adolph and Sarah (Bolthouse) Roos. He graduated in 1954 from Stillman Valley High School. Don farmed all his life in the Paynes Point area before his retirement in 2000. He was a member of Paynes Point Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his four children, Henry Roos of Oregon, Sarah Sulser of Stillman Valley, Ellen (Robert) Hamrick of Rochelle, and David (Pam) Roos of Iowa; five grandsons, Ryan, Daniel, John, Zeb, and Zane Roos; and one great-grandson, Matthew Roos.
His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Paynes Point, with the Rev. Andrew Kayes officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
