Churches throughout Plainfield will celebrate the Christmas season in many ways this year with musicals, programs, and worship services.
St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S Rte 59, will conduct two performances of “Conversion of Scrooge,” at 3:30 and 7 pm Dec. 14. An Advent Reconciliation Service is set for 7 pm Dec. 17 and the Parish School Advent Program is slated for 7 pm. Dec. 18. The church has an extensive schedule of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses, including a Special Needs Mass, and Masses in Polish and Spanish.
Crosswinds Church, 14360 S Rte 59, will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 pm.
Peace Lutheran Church, 24024 W. Main St., conducts weekly Advent midweek worship services at 7 pm. Wednesdays. Its Christmas Eve services will take place at 5:30 and 11 pm. Christmas Day Service is slated for 10 am.
CenterPointe Church, 16300 S Lincoln Hwy, will put on a Christmas children’s musical and drama production, “Putting it Back Together Again,” at 10 am Dec. 21. The church will also be serving dinner at Hesed House shelter, in Aurora, at 6 pm Dec. 22. Its Christmas Eve candlelight services will take place at 4 and 5:30 pm.
Plainfield United Methodist Church, 15114 S Illinois St., has slated its Children’s Christmas Program 11 am, Dec. 14. The Christmas Choir Cantata “Emmanuel – God with Us” is scheduled for 8:30 and 11 am, Dec. 21. The church will hold a Family-Oriented Christmas Eve Celebration at 5 pm, Christmas Eve Service with Bellissimo Bell Choir at 7 pm, and Christmas Eve Service with Chancel Choir at 10:30 pm.
