STILLMAN VALLEY – Avery Joseph Lovgren, 20, of Stillman Valley, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at his home.
He was born April 9, 1994, in Dixon, the son of Joey and Tracy (Humphrey) Lovgren. Avery was a 2012 graduate of Stillman Valley High School, where he was a member of the baseball and golf teams. When he was younger, he participated in youth basketball and junior tackle football. He was studying criminal justice at Kishwaukee Community College. His hobbies included hunting, golfing, baseball, spending time with family and friends, and almost anything outdoors.
Survivors include his parents, Joey and Tracy Lovgren; siblings, Faith, Grace, and Axel; paternal grandmother, Jane Lovgren; maternal grandfather, Roger Humphrey; aunts and uncles, Jeff (Mary) Lovgren and their children, Derek, Paige, and Brooke; Dean (Mandy) Powers and their children, Tyson and Mallory; Rogene (Chad) Maxon and their children, Reid and Reagan; and Tina (Brian) Gonnerman and their children, Dylan and Brianna.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bob Lovgren and Hilda Humphrey.
Avery also was fond of his canine companions, Gunner, Bow, and his dog, Buck. He was a very loving brother and best friend to his younger siblings and will not be forgotten.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kishwaukee Evangelical Community Church, 8195 Kishwaukee Road, Stillman Valley. Visitation also will be from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Friday, with a Christian Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 32 N. Jones St., Amboy. Interment will be at a later date at Mouth of Stillman Cemetery.
