Five students at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox won top honors in writing contest

NWE LENOX – Five Lincoln-Way Central students and two Lincoln-Way West students recently won top honors in the local New Lenox VFW Post 9545 Voice of Democracy writing contest.

The theme for this year’s contest was: “Why Veterans are Important to our Nation’s History and Future." Winners were honored at a banquet on Jan. 18 at the VFW Hall in New Lenox.

The LWC students are Neva Taylor, first place; Madison Smith, second place; Aaron Pachol, third place; Nathan Chianelli, fourth place and Nicole Rote, fifth place.

The LWW students are Heather Koska and Hayley Weston, both sophomores.
