Kathleen A. Keller

DIXON – Kathleen Annette Keller was called to her eternal rest Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at the age of 64, after a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 5, 1951, to Kenneth and Mary Lucille (Burke) Joyce. She married her soulmate and best friend, Bruce Keller, on May 25, 1973. She graduated in 1969 from Dixon High School, and in 1973 from St. Anthony School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at KSB Hospital in Dixon, where she spent the majority of her career sharing her expertise with the next generation of nurses. She retired from KSB’s Emergency Department Jan. 10, 2015. A woman of few words, she was “Kathleen” to family, and “Kathy” to friends and co-workers. Her heart was larger than the ocean, and she will be missed but forever remembered by everyone whose life she touched.

She leaves behind her husband of Dixon; three children whose loss is immeasurable, Mary Kathryn “Cassie” (Kevin) Winchell, Elliott Francis Keller, and Kristin Brigitte (Mike) Petrov; three grandchildren, who she was so proud of and who brought so much joy and laughter to her world, Benjamin, David, and Griffin; two sisters who will feel a void in their hearts forever, Tish (Ron) Emmole and Mary Eileen (Mike) Rostkowski; brothers, Tim and Kevin Joyce; and special sister, Kathy Buntrock.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m., Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Cremation rites have been accorded.
