SAVANNA – Robert H. "Bob" Hutchison, 44, of Savanna, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at his home.
Bob was born March 31, 1970, the son of Robert C. and Mary Ann (Plate) Hutchison. He graduated with the Class of 1988 from Mount Carroll High School. He graduated in 1994 from Mount St. Clare College in Clinton, Iowa, with a degree in general studies. From 1990 to 1995, Bob served in the US Naval Reserve and proudly served in a Seabee unit.
Bob was a man of many talents and interests. He loved telling jokes and had an infectious smile. An avid biker and hiker, Bob would press through snowstorms or blistering heat. Bob liked to make things (and take things apart), and enjoyed working with tools and computers. Quick to offer a kind word or helping hand, Bob was a gentle soul who cared deeply about others. For the past 13 years, Bob worked at Rolling Hills Progress Center in Lanark, where he was a valued employee and cherished co-worker.
Bob will be dearly missed by his mother, Mary Ann Hutchison of Mount Carroll; sister, Dawn (Chris Weiss) Hutchison-Weiss of Oak Creek, Wisconsin; nieces, Mesa and Ada Weiss; and many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, co-workers and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Hutchison, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., and a memorial service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mount Carroll, with Rev. Floyd West officiating.
Memorials may be made to Rolling Hills Progress Center, 201 state Route 64, Lanark, IL 61046, or NAMI Sauk Area, 601 First St. East, Lyndon, IL 61261.
