DIXON – Nancy Jo Munson, 78, of Grand Detour, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
She was born July 1, 1936, in Dixon, the daughter of John and Anna (Feltes) Weitzel. From 1975 to 2000, Nancy worked as a licensed practical nurse at KSB Hospital. She married John Munson at St. Patrick Church in Dixon.
Survivors include her husband of Grand Detour; children, Gregory Munson and Karen Witmer, both of Grand Detour, and Janet (Jim Jr.) Grobe of Polo; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, John (Sue) Weitzel, Jim (Molly) Weitzel, and Bill (Dixie) Weitzel, all of Dixon; and one sister, Julie (Herman) Johnson of Harmon.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laurie Magnafici; two sisters, Norma Jean Anderson and Mary JoAnne Munson; and two brothers, Joe and Larry Weitzel.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Dixon Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Marty Creager, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Grand Detour Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.
